The Tempers are a three-piece band from Seattle, Washington consisting of three siblings, Corina Bakker (vocals), James Bakker (synth) and Chalia Bakker (drums). They play a unique style of electronic music that blends the more psychedelic sounds of the early 70's with an experimental electronic sound inspired by artists of the last two decades. The drums combine the classic 80's Simmons electronic sound with acoustic live rock drums, and are driving, spacey, and somewhat tropical. The synths are heavy and dancey with emphasis on melodic hooks. Using a combination of vintage synths James has created a unique pop sound. Dark and heavy yet dreamy with hints of 70's funk. The vocals are dark, theatrical, and rhythmic. Corina Bakker's unique style seems to combine many different voices: dark, Dracula-esque, and monstrous, lulling, crooning, and tropical. The band is heavily focused on songwriting, creating songs that seem classic yet are distinctly different from anything that's been done. Their sound maintains pop appeal while completely defying the formula. Focused and dynamic, they are working on pioneering a new sound. Dead Disco, Love wave, Tropical Black Magic–it has yet to be defined by a genre.

The Tempers self-released their debut album (Vol. 1) in October 2010 followed by a 5 song EP (Together We Are The Love Vortex) on July 6th, 2012 in conjuntion with a West Coast summer tour.
